COFFEE
I have to start my day with coffee. I have learned to wait until I am at work at my desk and just do water in the morning. The best combo I have found to keep this low carb:
Coffee, 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream, 1 tbsp sugar free syrup (hazelnut, toffee or vanilla)
Im used to flavored creamers and Starbucks, so this was tough, but now I actually PREFER it!
If I'm out running errands, or need an afternoon pick-me-up, I do Starbucks Tall Skinny Hazelnut Latte (19 carbs, 12g protein)
If you're hard core awesome, do green tea....no carbs, but I need a bit of sweetness.
BREAKFAST
Yogurt and Fruit
It's boring, I know. But its for a good cause. I have Chobani vanilla yogurt (low carb, high protein) with fresh portioned fruit (blackberries, raspberries or blueberries) EVERYDAY.
You can do do the plain chobani, but I think it tastes like plastic, so Im willing to add a few carbs with the vanilla.
There may be other yogurts that are comparable, but I found chobani to be the most flavorful.
Granola Bars
I choose high protein low carb. My faves are:
FiberOne: Coconut Almond, Oats and Peanut Butter
Kind Bar: Madagascar Vanilla or Blueberry
Clif: Builders Chocolate Peanut Butter
I try not to have a granola bar on easy workout days, I just eat lunch earlier. Coffee and yogurt usually fill me up.
Cereal
I only have a Kelloggs protein cereal on the weekends. Its a sweet treat, but still good for you.
SNACKS
Trail mix (I buy these at Costco. Portioned mini packs, not the whole bag)
Triscuits and cheese (portion as recommended on box!)
Baby dill pickles
9-10 corn tortillas and salsa (if I dont have them for lunch or dinner)
Cherries (seasonal)
Plum
Nectarine
COCKTAILS
Maybe Madonna and J Lo can quit drinking to lose weight, but I cannot. It keeps me relaxed...and sane. So, its what you choose, and how much of it during the Green Velvet Bikini Diet. Just count the carbs on myfitnesspal and you will be fine.
Vodka has zero carbs and is my drink of choice. I tend to mix it with low carb DIET cranberry or club soda and lime. I'll generally have a few on ONE weeknight, then on the weekends. NO BEER.
Wine....I do drink wine. I'll have a glass with dinner or out to eat. A GLASS, no more. And have it in between glasses of water.
